CPS has a great sketch up this week. When I checked my April birthday list I knew a lily pad was in order for the center and these cute little frogs were going for a visit to VA. Yes, the frog wars** are still on! These frogs are from a .79 cent package found in the children's section of Michaels. They are glitter foam and come about 12 in a package. I think they are just as cute as can be and very worthy of decorating a "grown up" * card! I think it is fun to find items outside of the scrapbook aisle to use on cards.
*- debatable I know but work with me
** the frog wars- a battle between my sister in law Leslie and myself- neither of whom know how it started but it has been going on for years and years. One of us gave the other a frog, the next year the other reciprocated and we have been trying to outdo each other each year.
Now some frogs are very tasteful:

And here is the one, given to me at Christmas 2007, when I declared her the winner and the frog wars over...
It obviously did not bring about a truce , merely a cease fire because I received the really scary brass one above for Christmas this year and I gave her a quilt with a frog (and a scorpion, and a dragonfly, etc - it was a really cool ethnic quilt Mexican? (and new but purchased at a garage sale- one of the prerequisites of our Christmas exchanges).Perhaps I should edit my "grown up" statement.........

if there are two words *guaranteed* to make me want to read a person's blog post, those words will now and always be: GLITTER FROGS!!! :) :) :) i am diggin' the card, the sentiment, and of course the GLITTER! ♥
(ps: re frog wars...i suggest a full-on unilateral surrender on your part. trust me. the quilty, velvetty, jester-frog wreath is UNBEATABLE. leslie has won.) :)
